The Airprot
So im sitting in the airport waiting for the plane "i will never again fly AA" and i can't help but think back on my time in guatemala. 7 whole weeks! i can't believe that its over and that im going home. At the same time i can't wait to get back here! yesterday and this morning i have been thinking about what God has taught me in this crazy trip. How there sould not me the word if in your vocab, it should always be when God does it! How to live a life totally and uterly devoted to him. Some times very scary and not the easyest road to choose, but he told us it wouldn't be! God will always provide for your needs he will never leave you where you can't handle. You might have to go with out food friends family and alot of other things that we have been taught is what we as "christians" desirve. Which when you really look at the bible is not true at all Jesus went without all of that and he was the son of God! the reason that we live our lives the way we do. I will never be the same after this trip. Tita said last night that "jacob you are not the same person that came here just be prepared for that!" So as i sit here i thank God that he gave me the chance to spend time in guatemala and give me the chance to come back and make this what i do! God is good.

the last week
So its here the last week of my time in this amazing and beautiful county! This has been a real awesome expreince. God has taught me some much form the kids that i thought that i would be helping. For instance a little girl jumping 6 feet off of a ralling in to my arms with out even thinking, to a man who has nothing giving me the ring i spoke of earlyer and last tita showing me that there should not be the word if in our vocab if we believe in God! He will ALWAYS provide for is children. Today we were doing some home visits and i realized that it was the last time i would see some of them. I got very sad for the first time about thinking about coming home leaving for three months is going to feel like a life time. these kids, families, and place have been my home and will be my home for a long time to come. I am excited to see my family and my few friends, but God has shown me that this is my new home and im very excited to be back here and doing this work that God has let me do. I will be writing on here while i am in the states as well i hope you all liked my posts and they showed alittle bit of my life in guatemala, but to really see what i saw you need to come here and touch the kids love on the and let them teach you! God bless!

the ring
So a week ago we got to have jerimiah here with us and this morning he left which was bitter sweet! It was a great week with him to reconnect and just be able to hang out. On Wednesday we got to take the teachers to PanaJachel which is a town on a lake. It was beautiful time. We served the teacher the 2 days we were there! All they had to do was laugh and enjoy them selves and we all did! the last night we all got together and prayed there was crying hugging and at the end jerimiah and i got to wash all of their feet which was very very powerful for all of us! On the trip back i got sick and am just now getting over it. I am very glad to be well again! Thank you all for your prayers!
Yesterday as we were walking back to the car to leave for the day a man who always smiles to me and shakes my hand we try to talk to each other but the language barrier is hard. He stayed to show me his new earing and then took off a ring on his finger and gave it to me to look at or so i thought. When i tried to give it back he wouldn't except it. i tried to ask Tita to tell him that it was his and i couldn't take it, but she said it was a gift. WOW someone who has nothing giving me a ring off of his finger! For the rest of the night i was looking at it thinking about it and asking God how can i not do the same! I have seen so much of these acts while i have been down here. People who have nothing giving everything! coming in to a house and being given some of their dinner! In the states if you come to some ones house they give you snacks, not the food they have prepared! These people have just enough food if to little to feed their own family and still they offer it to you! God is amazing! and has really taught me that following him means that you have to give all you have your heart your life everything! It's not always easy but its ALWAYS worth it! So know i wear the ring around my neck to always remind me that we have to give all we are to God!

National mess with the gringo day!
So yesterday was offically named the the National mess with gringo day in Guatemala! It started off with monica taking all of the tooth brushes out of the bathroom took them to Tita and she picked mine and used it to clean Monica's necklace! I had no idea what was going on and they were laughing so hard! Then ive been trying to speak in spanish as much as i can so i asked for some chocolate in the van while some of the teachers where in there and one of them said that she spoke like that when she was two! "she spoke in spanish so i had to ask Tita what is said and through the laughs i got the meaning! again everyone was laugh really had! Last but not least another teacher said that i can't make a noise people in guatemala use to get your attention in spanish either! So in all yesterday was a fun filled day of making for of the gringo! I can't wait for next year, but next year i will be able to understand them then we will see who is laughing!!!! To be honest i love it down here the people are soooo nice and the land is so beautiful! I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!

The faces of La Limonade
I just started this project today. I was reading about how the Church is the people in it not the buildings they meet in. So i thought that the same is true with La Limonada we can show you the buildings and the poverty but you will really see God through the people of La Limonada. Every face has a story!
More to come. Enjoy!

faith
So God is so good! since i have been down here i have really been seeing how living by faith is the only way to live our lives as Christ followers. This doesn't mean that the road will be easy, most times it means it will be harder than most. Just like climbing a mountin the trip up might be hard but the view at the top will blow your mind! God has taught me that there is no if it happens or I think I might there is when it happens and I will or I wont. Just trust that God knows what he is doing and you will be amazed at what will come.

three day! i can't believe that its only been three days! Guatemala city is one of the most beautiful places on earth! i have been in the gehtto for the past two days, there is so much despair but then you walk by the school and all you can hear is the laughing and screaming of the little kids! The first day we walked around the gehtto, then we went to the school and the kids just jumped all over you asked you to pick them up and then again and again. We playing fotbal in the street drew with the little ones and just were human jungle gyms. Yesterday we saw a casket being carried by six men. It could have been one of the kids family members. It's just crazy to see what these kids live with on a day to day basis. Tonight we went up to the "lookout" it was so awesome you could see all of Guatemala!
Being here really opens your eye to what is really important in life. Like trusting COMPLETELY in God b/c he will provide!!! I have seen that when you give it all to God how he rewards you! All you really have to do is pray and believe and God does the rest! I don't think i can ever go back to living the same life i was when i know there are kids that have nothing....
